The shallow-water model (S. W.) with the hypothesis of the rigid lid seems to be a good approximation of the adiabatic Navier Stokes equations for the simulation of mesoscale oceanic flows. This hypothesis filters the gravity waves, which allows for larger timesteps for the numerical computation. The simplest case involves two layers in a one dimension case. We study this model by using a specific technique of splitting,, which involves a source term with Dirac singularities. This numerical technique is detailed and valided by reporting some significant computation tests.
